I know, I know. Poppy fields are almost becoming cliche among artists, but I just couldn't resist. (Also, please bear with one more, completed during the same timeframe. See below).

This was actually a commissioned painting. I enjoyed the limited "cold color" palette inspired by the troubled, unusual purple skies. It was a fun challenge to show what seemed to be the miles and miles of poppy fields infinitely dotting the distance. Still, I wanted to show the lovely flower - quite delicate, actually - in close-up as well.
